before we read the explained about Euphemism, i would like to thanks to Allah already gave we are the healt and opportunity. well and i want to tell to all people about my Power Point can be seen at the bottom before reference.
What is Euphemism?
Definition of euphemism
Euphemism is expression of a polite that is dictated by the words or phrase that is considered rude or unpleasant . Euphemism can also be regarded as smoothing a word that is considered offensive , taboo or sensitive to be said.

Function of Euphemism
As we know that,Euphemism helps writers to convey those ideas
which have become a social taboo and are too embarrassing to mention directly.
Writers skillfully choose appropriate words to refer to and discuss a subject
indirectly which otherwise are not published due to strict social censorship
e.g. religious fanaticism, political theories, sexuality, death etc. Thus,
euphemism is a useful tool that allows writers to write figuratively about the
libelous issues.
Types of Euphemisms

To Soften an Expression
Some euphemisms are used in order to make a blunt or unpleasant truth seem
less harsh.
Examples of euphemisms that fall into this category include:

Passed away instead of died

Correctional facility instead of jail
·
Departed instead of died
·
Differently-abled instead of handicapped
or disabled

To Be Polite
Other euphemisms are used to take the place of words or phrases you might
not want to say in polite company.
Examples of euphemisms that fall into this category include:

pornography

Adult beverages instead of beer or
liquor

Big-boned instead of heavy or overweight

In some cases, euphemisms are intentionally a grosser or less pleasant way
of saying something. These are usually used when people are being sarcastic or
trying to make light of a serious subject or make it seem less serious.
Examples include:

Bit the farm instead of died

Cement shoes instead of dead
